Welcome & Why I’m Here
First, Just See. The Story Comes Next
Why I’m Here
I’ve always felt that some moments are beyond explanation—they need to be experienced. That’s the inspiration behind this Substack.
My passion for analog photography stems from its ability to make me embrace uncertainty. When I snap a photo, I don’t receive immediate feedback. I have to wait for the film to be developed, allowing time to create a gap between me and the image. By the time I finally see the outcome, it feels like a rediscovery, akin to peering into a memory that has settled and taken on a life of its own.
Yet, even then, a single photo often fails to encapsulate the emotions I felt in that moment. The wind brushing against my skin as I ride, the rhythm of my breath, the way sunlight dances through the trees, or the song playing in my mind as I cycle down a quiet road—these are experiences that a picture alone can’t convey. That’s where words and music come into play.
This space is my way of giving my photos a voice. I want to pair them with words, with the thoughts that come in waves when I look back at them. And sometimes, with the music that was playing in my head at the time.
I created this Substack to capture the entire experience—not just the visuals, but also the emotions, the movement, the sounds, and the fleeting thoughts that come with them. Here, I’ll share those moments as they exist in my mind.
No rush, no expectations—just the journey.
The Joy of Film & Unscripted Moments
There’s a unique connection I feel between analog photography and the moments that unfold around me. Perhaps it’s the deliberate pace of both—the patience they demand and the trust they instill in the process. Or maybe it’s the unpredictability, the charm of imperfections, and the thrill of discovery, never knowing how the outcome will unfold until the journey concludes.
But cycling is just one piece of it. My camera follows me everywhere, not just on the road. Concerts, architecture, cars, and design—these moments call to me in the same way. My Substack isn’t about one thing; it’s a space to capture everything I love, the stories behind them, and the feeling they leave behind.
And then there’s film. Shooting on analog is my way of holding onto these fleeting moments. But unlike digital, where you see the result instantly, film requires patience and trust. I won’t know what the image looks like until days or weeks later. I may not recall the precise details of each shot, but I can always remember the feeling I experienced when I pressed the shutter. When the negatives are finally developed, it feels like I'm reliving that moment—sometimes with a fresh perspective.
Every show, every ride, every design, every song—it all comes together, making each photo feel alive. The spaces I move through shape my thoughts, the camera preserves the feeling, and this Substack is where I’ll try to put it all into words.
A Moment in Time
This is a moment I captured—one that you can see and experience in your own way. The feeling of the space, the energy of the scene, the details that caught my eye—it’s all here, frozen on film.

In my next posts, I’ll take you through each of these moments, sharing the thoughts, sounds, and stories behind them. For now, just take it in.
Oh, and one more thing. every post will come with a song. Something that feels right, that fits the moment, the words, and the mood. Just press play and take it all in.
Until next time.
